Discount Car and Truck Rentals opened its first location in February of 1980 in Hamilton, Ontario. Successful right from the start, Discount spread through Southern Ontario over the next four years and is one of the largest rental companies in that area today.
Discount's first move to become the truly national and international company it is today came in 1984. Terry Taylor, a successful Ford Dealership owner in Moncton, New Brunswick had been running a car rental branch out of his dealership, but was looking for a more organized approach. Seeing the potential for a progressive competitor in rentals, Mr. Taylor sought out that attitude and talent and found it in the Discount Car and Truck Rental System
